In the midst of World War II, Ireland has declared herself neutral. Troops found on Irish soil must be reported and interned, no matter which side they are fighting for. When midwife Nan O’Neil finds a wounded young Canadian pilot at her door, she knows she’s taking a huge risk by letting him in. Not only is she a widow living alone, but if caught harboring a combatant, she’ll face imprisonment.
Still, something compels Nan to take in “flyboy” Dutch Whitney, an RAF pilot whose bomber has just crashed over County Clare. While she tends to his wounds and gives him a secret place of refuge, the two begin to form a mutual affection—and an unbreakable bond.
But Nan has another secret, one that has racked her with guilt since her husband’s death and made her question ever loving again. As Nan and Dutch plan his escape, can he help restore her faith?

Everyone else – Grab a big cup of tea and a long book and snuggle in for some (hopefully) fall weather. 🙂 Love this quote from C.S. Lewis: “You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”

Crystal,
I love that quote too, only coffee is first in my line-up of reading beverages. 🙂 However, I did have some Chai Caramel tea yesterday. Three huge mugs of it to be exact. So. Good.

Favorite thing about fall? Probably the cool air, lol. I’m naturally hot-blooded and cool air is a welcome relief from the summer heat. But, then again, if you asked me my favorite thing about summer, I’d probably say the heat because it enables you to do so many things you just can’t do in cooler weather.
Favorite new book? Hmm… how to answer that… If by “new book” you mean the “newest release” that I’ve read and really liked, I’d have to say ‘The Captivating Lady Charlotte’ by Carolyn Miller. If you mean the most recent “new-to-me” book that I’ve read and really liked, it’d be ‘A Viscount’s Proposal’ by Melanie Dickerson. And if you mean a “new book that I’ve not yet read, but am super excited about and dying to read”, then I’d say ‘The Vexing’ by Tamara Leigh.
I’ve probably got a whole slew of other books I could add to this list of favorite “new books”, but those are the objects of my most recent obsession, lol.

Hello, Tish! Looks like a fantastic giveaway. Crystal, it’s good to see your face flatting around the internet. 😉
What I like about fall is the excitment of beginning a new season. Thanksgiving is on its way along with two of my children’s birthdays, and my dad’s which falls in Halloween. Apples are in season for canning and the kids are still excited about starting school. It’s just a beautiful time of change. As for books. My new favorite book is not in print yet, so I’m not sure that counts. LOL. However, after putting together the Fabulous Fall Books list I’ve added Arise from Dark Places by Connie Almony to my reading pile. Have a blessed giveaway and celebrate of wonder books!
